Interconnection, a priority for smart grids

As the installations were not originally designed for this interconnection, we cannot implement smart grids as they stand. The introduction of new electricity distribution tools and connected meters by Enedis is encouraging the implementation of this system. There are also initiatives of this type in emerging projects, where the application of this approach is taken into account upstream. However, given the large proportion of older buildings, it is essential to adapt them for the implementation of smart grids.

With annual renewal rates of just 2%, it's imperative to develop solutions for older systems. But this adaptation is hampered by the multiplicity of parties involved, with responsibility for each installation falling to different companies (distributors, transporters, energy producers, landlords and businesses).

The possibility of creating a synergy between all these players could simplify the procedures and regulations for deploying these systems. But we still need to overcome the legislative hurdles.
